A 17-year-old student set herself ablaze at her residence in the Begum Doma police station limits on Saturday.

According to the police, deceased K Mangamma (17), the daughter of K Narsaiah and a resident of the Dir Sampally village of the Ranga Reddy district, set herself ablaze during the morning hours of March 1, 2014.

It was reported that the young lady died from her injuries while undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital.

It has also been reported that the deceased took this extreme step because she had been battling depression for quite some time.

The Doma police have registered a case, and after the autopsy, the deceased's body was handed over to her parents.(INN)
