State Election Commissioner P Ramakanth Reddy announced the election program for the 21,491 gram panchayats in a press conference today.
Phase 1 will be held on July 23, 2013, for 6,963gram panchayats, Phase 2 is scheduled on July 27, 2013, and it will be held for 7,738 gram panchayats. Phase-3 is to be held on July 31, 2013.
All the phases will last from 7am to 1pm.
Notifications will be issued on July 9, and filing of nominations will start on the same day.
The last date for filing the nominations is July 13 (5pm). The nominations will be inspected on July 14.
Appeals against the rejection of nomination can be made on July 15. The appeals can be made before the Revenue Divisional Officer.
The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is July 17 (3pm).
Counting of votes will be held from 2pm, and on the respective polling dates themselves. The results will be declared soon after the completion of counting of votes. (INN)
