Keeping in view the growing number of Covid cases, the Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders imposing a night curfew in the state.
The curfew will be in force from 11 pm to 5 am.
The state government has also asked all theatre managements to screen shows with a maximum of 50% occupancy.
It has also mandated face masks for all those who venture out of their houses.
The orders were issued following a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy with officials of the state government about the steps needed to prevent the spread of the virus.
Jagan asked the officials to take suitable precautions in the administration of medicines for the treatment of the virus including its new variant Omicron, and to keep adequate stocks of the medicines in the state.
He also asked them to make necessary changes to the home kits being given to the Covid affected patients.
The CM asked the officials to also strengthen the emergency service 104 call centre, and added that the officials of the centre should respond to complaints immediately.
He also asked them to prepare Covid care centres for the treatment of Covid patients, and to ensure that there was a fully-equipped Covid care centre for every Assembly constituency.
He made it clear that all Covid prevention steps should be strictly implemented, and that fines should be imposed on those who didn't wear face masks. He also asked officials to take steps to ensure gatherings of upto only 200 people in public places and 100 people at indoor events.
