Election Commission Authorities Seize Rs. 54 Crores

As part of their probe against illegal campaign practices, Election Commission authorities seized Rs. 54 crores in different parts of AP.

The election authorities have so far seized more than Rs. 54 crores in different districts of Andhra Pradesh.

According to the information furnished by Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal, so far, the authorities have seized Rs. 54 crores in cash, and have registered six cases of misuse of vehicles.

With Rs 9.55 crores seized in Nellore, it is on the top of the list, followed by Hyderabad where Rs 8.29 crores were seized.

Except for Nellore district, the authorities have seized cash from 22 other districts.

As many as 791 non-bailable warrants have been executed while 2,384 NBWs are still pending.

Nearly 870 people have been retained under sections 107, 106 Cr PC.

A total of 1400 licensed arms have also been seized in different districts of Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
