Alleging that the Central schemes were not being properly implemented by the TRS government in Telangana, BJP national president Amit Shah exhorted his party workers and leaders to strive to take the Central schemes to the masses at the field level.
He exuded confidence that that would ensure that the BJP wrested power in the state in the 2019 elections.
Participating in several programs in Teratpally village in Chundur mandal of Nalgonda district, Shah said that the absence of public and individual toilets in the district proved that the Central schemes were not reaching the people at the field level. He asked the party cadre to work hard to plug such deficiencies in the state so as to strengthen the party further in the state. Telangana should also progress swiftly just like the rest of the country was under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, adding that Modi was burning the midnight oil for the welfare of the people all over the country, and the cadre in Telangana should ensure that his efforts helped the people of the state.
Earlier, on arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad this morning, Shah, who is in Telangana on a three-day visit to strengthen the party, was received by state BJP president K Laxman, the party's floor leader in the Assembly G Kishan Reddy and others. From the airport, Shah straighaway left for Nalgonda district by road. He reached Teratpally village at 1:25 pm and hoisted the BJP flag there.
He then visited every door in the village and enquired about the implementation of the Central schemes in the district. He also consoled 16 families in the village stricken by serious issues. He later unveiled the statue of Maisaiah, who was gunned down by Maoists. He addressed booth-level party workers later.
