The Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) today decided to postpone all the entrance exams including EAMCET in the state.
It made a submission to that effect before a division bench of the High Court during the hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed on the issue by some people of the state.
In the petition, the petitioners urged the HC to issue orders for the postponement of the exams keeping in view the growing number of coronavirus cases.
During the hearing, the HC had asked the state government how it would hold the exams if a lockdown was imposed in the state capital.
Responding on the issue, the Advocate General of the state had told the HC that the cabinet would take a decision on the issue during its next meeting.
Other entrance exams of the state like LAWCET, PGCET and ICET are also being postponed by the council.
