Owaisi's Condition Critical

Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, who sustained 4 bullet injuries in a shoot-out in the Barkas area of the Old City on Saturday morning, was shifted from the Owaisi Hospital in Malakpet to Care Hospital in Banjara Hills later in the evening that day.

The Hyderabad MP and Akbaruddinn's elder brother, Asaduddin Owaisi, informed the media that the former had been shifted on the advice of the doctors treating him.

The condition of Akbaruddin is stated to be critical, as the wounds inflicted by 2 of the 4 bullets were grevious. His left kidney is severely damaged and he is undergoing dialysis. The left side of his large intestine and his uninary bladder were also damaged. The MIM leader has been hooked to a ventilator.

In the shoot-out that took place when Akbaruddin Owaisi was on a padayatra in the Barkas area, Akbaruddin sustained 4 bullet injuries, and several knife-wounds on his left hand. In the rival team led by Mohammed Pahelwan, Ibrahim (the son of local leader Younus) lost his life, while Awad and Abdullah (both of whom are Pahelwan's brothers) sustained critical injuries.

It has been reported that the Central Crime Station (CCS) will investigate the Owaisi shoot-out case.
