Lok Satta Party president Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, on Thursday, congratulated scientists and technologists on the successful test-firing of Agni-V, India's inter-continental ballistic missile.
"The test exemplifies India's emergence as a key player in the world of science and technology. It should be viewed as part of the country's development story," he said in a media statement.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also congratulated DRDO scientists for the successful test-fire that has enabled India to join the elite Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) club.
"The successful launch of Agni-5, which has a 5,000-km range, is a giant step in the country's ballistic missile programme, and I congratulate each and every member of the team that built the long range missile," Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said.
"India is now a force to reckon with, as it stands alongside with US, Russia, China, France and UK in ballistic missile development technology," he said.
"Test-fired at the Wheeler Island off Odisha coast, it reached its target in 15 minutes, and I join the nation in joy and congratulating the Project Director and his team," he added.
Describing the Agni-V launch as a "remarkable accomplishment", Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said that the DRDO is "well poised to achieve many more such milestones and make the nation truly proud of its advancements in missile technology". (INN)
