Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Tuesday conducted raids on the residence of the Kanuru Panchayat Village Revenue Officer, and unearthed property worth Rs. 40 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to Vijayawada Range DSP Venkat Rao, the ACB sleuths conducted the raids after being tipped off that the Kanuru VRO Nellari Venkata Subramaneshwara Rao (50) was leading a lavish lifestyle.
The raids were conducted on Subramaneshwara Rao's residence at Kanuru, Penamaluru mandal, in Krishna district, and also at his Ongole residence simultaneously. The ACB sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on the residences of his relatives.
The ACB sleuths discovered that the tainted official possessed assets including 88 acres of land and documents pertaining to 7 flats at Yalamanchili, Ongole and Visakhapatnam city, apart from independent luxurious houses, gold and silver worth Rs. 45,000 and net cash of Rs. 78,000.
The house in which the official was residing in is worth about Rs. 30 lakh, and it was furnished with appliances worth around Rs. 8 lakh. Apart from these, 2 luxury cars were also seized.
Further raids are on, and a man-hunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused officer.
