5 Additional Judges Appointed

The President appointed 5 additional judges to the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

5 additional judges have been appointed to the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday.

According to an official statement, President Pratibha Patil has appointed Justice Nadimpalli Rama Linga Nageswara Rao, Justice Ponnuru Durga Prasad, Justice Kallakuri Girija Shankar, Justice Nyshadham Ravi Shankar and Justice Vegi Suri Appa Rao for a period of 2 years. They will hold the posts from the dates they assume charges in their respective offices.

The President of India is empowered to appoint judges under clause (1) of article 224 of the constitution.
