Three men died on the spot and another was grievously injured after the car in which they were traveling rammed into a tree and overturned, in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Vinayak (who was at the driving wheel), Sriram Nayak and Sainath. Another Kalyan, the only one wearing a seat belt, was grievously injured, and was shifted to a hospital.
Police said that the four were returning from Gurramguda on the Sagar Ring Road to their residences in Champapet after attending a drinking party. After crossing the Sagar Ring Road junction, the speeding car careened to the left and crashed into a telephone pole and a tree, and then rammed into an eatery.
The front side of the car was totally crushed due to the impact.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the Osmania General Hospital for a post mortem and admitted Kalyan to a hospital.
The police have registered a case of negligent and rash driving.
