The point of contention between the TRS party and the Opposition took a new turn as State TDP members said that the Land Acquisition Amendment Bill was passed in Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali's name, though the latter didn't speak a single word about it in the Assembly.
Speaking to the media at NTR Trust Bhavan on Saturday, T-TDP senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said that the ruling Party transformed the Assembly into its propaganda forum as it released the amendment in Mahmood Ali's name to appease minorities.
Reddy opined that the year 2016, for Telangana people, would remain a year of disillusionment because of the TRS government. He alleged that it had failed the people by reneging on the assurances it made 31 months ago.
He also said that the State government completed Pragathi Bhavan in record time and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had termed the monument as "Pride of Telangana", and opined that people would take pride in the structure only when everyone till the last beneficiary gets the promised 2 BHK houses.
Circling back to the Land Acquisition Amendment issue and the subsequent boycott of the Assembly, he said that the State government released the list of hours spoken by the Opposition leaders but not of the time spent by the Chief Minister, Irrigation Minister and IT Minister in making their points.
Finding fault with the Chief Minister for stating that the State government readied Rs. 17,660 crores for house constructions, Reddy asked the Chief Minister to tell who had obstructed him from spending the same.
