Terror has struck Hyderabad again.
A little over five years after the blasts at Gokul Chat / Lumbini Park and then at the Meccan Masjid, 15 persons have died, and more than 50 persons have been injured, in twin serial bomb blasts that occurred less than an hour ago in the middle-class Dilsukhnagar area of Hyderabad.
The blasts occurred near a tiffin centre next to Konark theatre, and near Venkatadri theatre in the same area. Cycles are being said to have been used for the blasts.
The dead and the injured are currently being taken to various hospitals in the city. Three of those who died have been identified as Yadaiah and Ramanujan of Champapet, and Ravi of Borabanda.
The blasts that took place at 2 different places in the city appear to have had a greater impact than first anticipated. The people are in a panic, and a stampede like situation was brought under control with difficulty. The entire area has been cordoned off, and bomb and dog squads have been pressed into service.
