Telangana Congress leader A Revanth Reddy on Monday alleged that IT Minister K T Ramarao's kin Pakala Haranatha Rao had secured a government job by submitting a fake Scheduled Tribe certificate, and was still collecting a pension after serving as a Forest Range Officer for 35 years.
Reddy demanded that the state government initiate immediate action against the retired officer and recover all the money he had received from the government during all these years as an employee appointed on a fake caste certificate.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with former MP Ravindra Naik and Congress ST Cell chairman Jagan Lal Naik, Reddy asked the state government why it failed to take action against Haranatha Rao for allegedly grabbing a post meant for an ST candidate.
Reminding Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of his claim of not sparing even his son or daughter if they indulged in corruption, Reddy asked KCR to initiate action against Haranatha Rao and instill confidence among the people. He also demanded KTR's response on the issue.
The firebrand leader said that the Congress ST Cell would register a complaint against Haranatha Rao, and if the government failed to initiate action against the accused, the party would approach the court.
Also speaking on the occasion, former MP Ravindra Naik accused the state government of creating differences among the various tribes coming under the Schedule Tribes category.
Naik also demanded the state government's response on the adivasis' allegations that they were denied ST reservations.
It may be mentioned here that the tribals from across the state have risen in protest against reservation being provided to Lambadas under the ST category. Their claim is that the Lambadas are not aboriginals.
