TRS rebel MLC and now Congress leader Konda Murali, accompanied by his wife Konda Surekha, met the Telangana Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud today and submitted his resignation.
The resignation of Murali comes in the wake of a complaint lodged by the TRS with the Council Chairman a couple of days ago urging him to take action against all the TRS rebel MLCs.
Addressing media persons after tendering his resignation, Murali said that he had resigned from his post as he believed in value-based politics, and as serving the people was his goal and not hankering after posts.
He added that he was the first MLC to be elected unanimously in the entire state.
Murali also alleged that the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was trying to decimate the Opposition in the state legislature by luring the Opposition MLAs into the TRS fold.
Murali's wife and former MLA Konda Surekha, who accompanied him, claimed that her husband had not won on the B-form given by KCR but with the support of the people of the state. She also alleged that the ruling party had won the Telangana Assembly elections by misusing its power and by spending huge money.
