BJP national General Secretary Muralidhar Rao today claimed that the TRS was floundering after its
loss in the recent Dubbaka by-election.
Rao alleged that, worried by both its own defeat and the BJP's growing popularity in Telangana, the TRS had even attempted to mislead the people of the state through various gimmicks in the run-up to the GHMC elections.
He also questioned the TRS-led state government regarding several welfare issues in the state.
The BJP leader first lashed out at the government for the delay in the distribution of monetary flood relief in the state capital.
"Why has the TRS government still not completed the flood relief distribution in Hyderabad when it had promised to resume the same from December 7?" he asked.
Rao also accused the government of being biased towards the capital city, claiming that it had not extended the same kind of flood relief to other parts of the state, including Warangal, as it had to Hyderabad.
He also berated the ruling party for, he alleged, not doing anything for around 6 lakh private school teachers in Telangana who had lost their jobs due to Covid-19, and claimed that the government was in general interested only in working for electoral gains.
"The general administration in Telangana has come to a standstill as the TRS government is interested only in securing votes. It does not even remember to implement any welfare programs till an election is around the corner," he said.
Besides grilling the government for its alleged failures, Rao also expressed his displeasure at the reported closeness between the leaders of the TRS and the AIMIM, and said that the BJP would expose the "dark alliance" between the CM and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
"There is a need to liberate the people of Telangana from the rule of KCR, and to ensure that his ally Owaisi and he are both shunted out of politics," he added.
