Telangana Withdraws Case Against OU Students
The Telangana Government issued orders withdrawing a criminal case registered against the students of OU in connection with the statehood agitation.

The Telangana Government on Tuesday issued orders withdrawing a criminal case registered against the students of Osmania University in connection with the statehood agitation.
The case was registered at the Osmania University Police Station in Cr No 348/2010 under Sections 147, 148, 427, r/w 149 IPC; Section 7 (1) of the Criminal Law Amendment Act; and Section 4 of the PDPP Act.
It was pending before the court of the IV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Nampally vide CC No 275/2013.
Based on the report submitted by the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, the Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma wrote a letter to the State Government on September 13 recommending withdrawal of prosecution against the accused persons. Subsequently, the State Government on Tuesday issued orders withdrawing the case, and directed the Hyderabad Collector and District Magistrate to request the prosecuting officer concerned to take necessary action in this regard.
Of the 25 accused persons, as many as 15 students were identified and named in the case. They were Doddolla Rajaram Yadav, Balki Suman, Marri Anil Kumar, Dudimetla Balraj Yadav, Gellu Srinivas Yadav, Alludu Jagan Kumar, Vadapally Madhav, Palepu Dilip, Katepally Venkat, Gade Venkat, Nijjana Ramesh Mudiraj, Dandawate Nikhil, Thumu Naveen Yadav and Syed Waquar Ali.
