In a bid to strengthen the vital Arogya Mahila initiative, the State government has decided to add 100 more centres that will run the weekly special clinics for women.
Minister for Health T Harish Rao on Thursday directed officials to make the necessary arrangements to open these 100 new health centres across the State on September 12.
With the launch of these 100 additional centres, the number of Arogya Mahila Clinics in the State will reach 372 from the existing 272.
The Arogya Mahila Clinics offer 8 main types of medical services, with dedicated female medical staff, every Tuesday. The State government launched the clinics on March 8 of this year to mark the occasion of the International Women's Day.
