Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka today announced that the State government was implementing several initiatives to strengthen the Anganwadi centres in Telangana, including the recruitment of 14,000 Anganwadi teachers and helpers.
At an event held at TGIRD, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, the minister distributed appointment letters to 181 candidates selected as Grade-I Supervisors by the TGPSC in the Women and Child Welfare Department, and made the above announcement.
Seethakka said that Anganwadi centres not only provided nutritious meals but also served as early learning spaces for children.
"The Anganwadi centres have evolved into hubs of maternal and child care. Telangana is the only State that provides 57 varieties of toys and uniforms to children at these centres," she said.
She urged all supervisors to maintain the highest professional standards, and said that each supervisor needed to oversee 25 Anganwadi centres and ensure their efficient management.
