Telangana TDP Slams KCR For His Volte Face On GST
The flip-flops of the CM would lead to confusion among the people, and the credibility of the government would be in danger with his U-turn on GST, the party said.

TDP Telangana working president A Revanth Reddy today faulted Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on his remarks over GST.
In an open letter to the Chief Minister, Reddy alleged that KCR, who had earlier welcomed the GST stating there would be no loss to the exchequer after its implementation. He pointed out that the Telangana Finance Minister, who regularly participated in the GST meetings, had himself stated that the state would lose Rs 4,000 crores annually due to the GST, but that KCR paid no heed.
But the CM had now changed his tune and was making remarks contrary to what he said that, even threatening that the state government would knock the doors of the apex court on the GST over irrigation projects in Telangana.
Reddy also said that the Chief Minister had opposed demonetization of big notes initially but later welcomed the Centre's decision to stop circulation of big currency notes.
"It is unwarranted for KCR to change his stands and statements often," he said.
The reports now were that it was not merely Rs 4,000 crores but Rs 20,000 crores after the GST on irrigation projects, including Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha, that the state would lose, Reddy said.
The flip-flops of the Chief Minister would lead to confusion among the people, and the credibility of the state government would be in danger with the sudden U-turn of Chief Minister KCR on GST, the TDP MLA said. He demanded that the state government give the exact details of the loss after the implementation of GST, and that KCR apologize to the people for his vacillations.
He also asked KCR to write to the Prime Minister expressing concern on the issue and that the TRS MPs organize protests in Delhi.
