Clarifying that the sole motive behind the legislators from Telangana submitting their resignations was to create a Constitutional crisis and forcing the Centre to take an early decision on the separate statehood demand, Telugu Desam Party Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Thursday said that the forum members would enlighten the people of the region about this fact.
Talking to media persons after flagging off a bus yatra at Gun Park, Errabelli said that the forum members would create awareness among people of Telangana on the reasons that forced the elected representatives to submit their resignations en masse.
"The elected representatives from Telangana resigned from their posts to create a Constitutional crisis and to force the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill in Parliament. They did not do so with an eye on any by-elections," Errabelli said.
He added that legislators who had resigned for the cause of Telangana would not contest in any by-elections until the Centre announces the formation of a Telangana state.
The bus yatra will cover 9 districts of the region, and will conclude on July 14 at Mahabubnagar, where a massive public meeting will be organised.
Errabelli sought the cooperation of all leaders and parties for their bus yatra. He said the Telangana Political Joint Action committee has responded positively when asked for its cooperation.
"The TPJAC has expressed its solidarity to the yatra," he said.
Earlier, TDP Telangana Forum members paid tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial.
Telangana People's Front convenor Gaddar and Telangana United Front chief Vimalakka expressed solidarity with the members of the forum. (INN)
