Rs 720 Crore Released For Pending Employee Bills

The government had promised that more than Rs 700 crore would be released every month to clear pending dues accumulated during the previous government.
Hyderabad | 1st February 2026
The Telangana government today announced relief for government employees by releasing Rs 720 crore to clear their pending bills.

As per the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, the amount was released on Saturday evening towards the settlement of dues for the month of January.

The government had earlier assured employee unions that more than Rs 700 crore would be released every month to clear pending dues accumulated during the previous government's tenure. By the end of June last year, Rs 183 crore had been released. Thereafter, from August onwards, at least Rs 700 crore has been released every month.

From the funds released recently, the entire pending amount towards surrender leave encashment from 2022 to February 2025 has been cleared in one go. The released funds also cover gratuity, General Provident Fund (GPF) and employee advances.
