Attending the second day of the two-day hunger strike taken up by Gadwal MLA D K Aruna and Congress leader Ponnala Laxmaiah at Indira Park to demand the creation of Gadwal and Janagama districts, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy suggested that the State government set up a judicial commission or an independent institution to supervise the process of delimiting districts and to facilitate unbiased divisions based only on geography, resources, demography and the people's aspirations.
Reddy demanded that the State government release a fresh draft notification seeking public opinion on the delimitation of the districts. He asked the CM to also reconsider the Opposition parties's suggestions and objections.
He also asked the government to follow a smooth, transparent and democratic process in the creation of the new districts.
