The Telangana government today released a draft comprising guidelines for the food security policy to be rolled out for the State.
The draft offers to take objections and suggestions to make changes, it is learnt.
Poor families, defined has having incomes of lesser than Rs 1.50 lakh per year in villages and Rs 2 lakhs per year in towns, are eligible for the food security scheme.
Those who come under the scheme include agriculture workers, daily wage workers, vendors of fruits and flowers, widows, deprived classes and others.
The government is to set up control commissions at various levels to strengthen the implementation of the policy.
