The Telangana flag will fly alongside the Tricolour on August 15, Independence Day, in the Telangana region, the Telangana Congress Steering Committee decided on Saturday.
Congress MLA and spokesperson of the Steering Committee Gandra Venkataramana Reddy told media persons outside the residence of Congress Rajya Sabha member K Kesava Rao, that a week-long chart of agitational programs was finalized during the day's meeting.
Before revealing the details of the agitational programs, the MLA expressed his concern on the health of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and appealed to people of all faiths to pray for her early recovery.
Giving details about the protest programs, Venkataramana Reddy stated that the Steering Committee has decided to mark Quit India day on 9 August throughout the region by organizing rallies and meetings and paying homage to freedom fighters who had laid their lives for the country's independence.
Agitational programs would be organized in Hyderabad on 11 August to press for the demand for the deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders.
Besides this, Independence Day will see the Telangana flag being hoisted beside the National Flag.
The meeting was presided over by Kesava Rao, and was attended by MPs Ponnam Prabhakar Rao, Manda Jagandham, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Komati Reddy Rajgopal Reddy and Balram Naik, ministers Basavaraju Saraiah, K Jana Reddy, J Geeta Reddy, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Ponnala Laksmaiah, and other Legislators.
