Seeing the public gathered at his party's Praja Chaithanya Bus Yatra meeting at Tandur, Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy exuded confidence that the party would come to power.
He asked the TRS government to adopt good governance at least now after seeing the number of people attending the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Reddy found fault with the ruling party leaders for asking what the previous Congress government had done. He said that the Food Security Act and the Right to Information Act (RTI) were brought by the Congress. He also said that the poor used to sell their lands when they needed to get hospitalized before the introduction of Arogya Sri by the Congress. The credit for generation of surplus power in the country also went to his party, he claimed, and alleged that the TRS government didn't produce a single unit of power from any source other than the projects launched by the Congress, and was only taking credit for the Congress' work. In fact, the TRS government had not fulfilled a single one of its assurances made prior to the 2014 elections, he said.
Reddy also promised that the Congress would reopen the Nizam Sugar Factory after coming to power.
TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, too, addressed the meeting. He alleged that a looting network was ruling the state, with huge corruption taking place especially in irrigation projects. He alleged that extending assistance of Rs. 4,000 per acre to the farmers was an election stunt of the TRS government, and promised that the Congress would waive off Rs. 2 lakhs of loans per farmer in one go if it came to power.
Leader Of Opposition in the Legislative Council Shabbir Ali alleged that there were six Telangana betrayers in KCR's cabinet. He also alleged that the Congress had deceived the Muslims by promising them that it would implement 12% reservations for them but doing nothing. He claimed that the Congress was only the party thinking about the development of poor.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Tandur constituency Congress in-charge Ramesh Maharaj. Telangana State Congress party affairs in-charge R C Kuntia, senior leaders V Hanumantha Rao, Mallu Ravi, Ponnam Prabhakar, Gaddam Prasada Rao, Danam Nagender and Maheshwar Reddy, and others participated in the meeting.
