The Telangana State Cabinet is scheduled to meet on February 2, and will focus on welfare schemes and budget allocations to various departments for the 2017-18 fiscal year.
According to informed sources, the Cabinet will hold talks on the State budget allocations to flagship programs with a focus on welfare and development. Ahead of the budget session likely from February 15, the State Cabinet will hold a key meeting at the Secretariat.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will chair the Cabinet which will take stock of the schemes being implemented and take feedback from the public on the progress of development works in various sectors.
However, sources claim that this budget session will likely be affected by the recent note ban.
The Cabinet is likely to come up with more allocations to the irrigation sector and speed up ongoing projects. The Cabinet will also focus on the flagship programs including Haritha Haram, Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha, pensions, Shadi Mubarak, Kalyana Lakshmi, and other programs.
