AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Friday hinted that the Centre might convene a special session of the Parliament to table the Telangana Bill.
Speaking to media persons in Delhi, Digvijay Singh said that the Bill would be sent for President Pranab Mukherjee's approval by Friday night, and that he would then decide on how much time should be given to the state Legislative Assembly to give its opinion.
Stating that it might take some time for the Bill to come from the state Assembly to the Parliament, he said that if the Centre fails to introduce the Bill in the winter session, then a special session would be convened to pass it.
Digvijay Singh said that the Congress has devised its own strategy to pass the Bill. He also said that irrespective of individual opinion, all Congress leaders would have to abide by the decision taken by the Congress Working Committee. (INN)
