Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today held a meeting with MPs of the TDP on the strategy to be adopted in the forthcoming winter sessions of Parliament where they plan to pressurize the BJP on its post-bifurcation promises.
During the meeting, Naidu discussed the special package that was given to Andhra Pradesh by the Union government instead of Special Status, for recovery from post-bifurcation losses. He asked the MPs to meet BJP representatives and also Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and inquire about the status and progress of according legal sanctity to the special package. The Chief Minister suggested that the MPs focus on deriving maximum benefits for the State during the Session.
Apart from these issues, it is also expected that the MPs would press the Centre to fulfill all promises made under the AP Reorganisation Act, including creating the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone and increasing the number of Assembly constituencies in the State. The issue of inadequacies in the Reorganisation Act would also be brought up, as per reports.
Speaking on the recent demonetization move undertaken by the Centre, the CM welcomed the move but added that precautionary measures should have been taken to immunize the public from the aftermath of the ban. He further said that in order to curtail the flow of black money, India must become a cashless society (electronic currency).
For this, the Centre must facilitate increased usage of online transactions, Naidu said and added that nations with lower education and income levels were ahead of us in using mobile banking services. This is the only way to realize the dream of a digital India.
