TDP Leaders Break Fast

TDP leaders finally broke their "indefinite" fast, against the increase in power charges, on instruction by doctors, and by the party's president Chandrababu Naidu.

The MLAs, who had joined Left-wing parties CPI and CPI (M) in their hunger strike against the anti-people power policies being carried out by the government, had fallen ill last night, and had to be shifted to a hospital. The TDP leaders had reportedly been inclined towards carrying on with the fast despite their worsening health, but were persuaded by Chandrababu Naidu to do otherwise.

They broke their fast this morning over a glass of lime juice, and assured the media that the struggle against the rising power charges will continue.
