The alliance between the BJP and the TDP appears to be well and truly on the rocks thanks to the TDP taking a sensational decision to support a no-confidence motion against the NDA whoever moved it in Parliament.
The TDP had taken the decision to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh, sources in the party said.
The decision was taken after a meeting called by Chief Minister and party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu with available senior ministers and leaders at Amaravathi.
It is being reported that in the wake of the decision, the TDP politburo meeting will be held on Friday where the issue of the alliance with NDA will come up for discussion.
The sensational decision of the TDP assumes importance as it is the YSR Congress Party, the main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh led by firebrand leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and a staunch opponent of the TDP, that intends to move a no-confidence motion in Parliament.
