TDP Seeks Repoll In Violence-hit Booths
TDP MP C M Ramesh told the CEC that YSRCP activists carried out attacks in some areas in the Kadapa, Jammalmadugu and Mydukuru Assembly segments on May 7.
The Telugu Desam Party leaders on Friday requested the Election Commission of India to conduct repolling in some booths in Kadapa and other constituencies where YSR Congress Party activists allegedly resorted to irregularities.
TDP MP C M Ramesh called on Chief Election Commission V S Sampath alleging that YSRCP activists carried out attacks in some areas in the Kadapa, Jammalmadugu and Mydukuru Assembly segments on the polling day on May 7.
He alleged that YSRCP leaders and activists attacked TDP activists and security personnel on duty.
He also submitted a few video clippings showing scenes of booth capturing and other irregularities.
He appealed to the CEC to order repolling in the violence-hit polling booths in the Seemandhra region.
Speaking to media persons later, Ramesh said that the CEC assured action on his complaint. (INN)
