At least 4 persons were killed and one sustained serious injuries, when a speeding Tata Sumo collided with a stationary lorry near Pebberu mandal in Rangapur, Mahabubnagar, on National Highway 7, on Friday.
According to police sources, 3 persons were killed on the spot, and one, who sustained serious injuries, died in the Government General Hospital in Mahabubnagar while undergoing treatment. The condition of another is stated to be serious.
The police shifted the bodies to hospital for postmortem, and the identities of victims are yet to be ascertained. All the victims are believed to be from Eetikyapadu in YSR district.
Police said the mishap occurred when the Tata Sumo was heading towards Hyderabad from Kurnool district. The impact of the collision was such that the Tata Sumo was completely damaged.
