Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Ahead of the upcoming monsoon session of the Assembly beginning on September 7, health officials tested MLAs and MLCs for the coronavirus. Rao also took the test, and tested positive.
He is also reportedly showing some symptoms.
Rao himself informed the public about the infection via Twitter. The minister said that he had already been taking rest after showing some symptoms, and had officially tested positive today.
He said that he was however healthy, and that he would remain in home quarantine and recover soon.
As expected, Rao will not attend the Assembly session.
The minister appealed to all leaders and others who came in contact with him to take the coronavirus test and also stay in quarantine.
