The numbers of swine flu cases reported from various parts of the state are increasing, with the arrival of the monsoon. Health officials have warned people to take preventive measures, as the state reported 4 more cases of swine flu on Monday.
State Swine Flu Coordinator Dr. K Subhakar says there is no need to panic. He has asked people with flu-like symptoms to take precautionary measures like wearing masks, and to contact a physician immediately.
He said that 169 swine flu cases were reported across the state this year.
The situation in the twin cities and elsewhere in the districts is under control, he stated. He also said that health authorities have enough medical kits, masks and protective equipment to meet sudden spurt in cases.
He appealed to people to contact the 104 mobile health services and call the toll free number 1056 to clear their doubts about swine flu and seek any assistance.
