Stalling Land Survey Due To Police Cases: Tahsildars
In a setback to the Telangana government, the Tahsildars have put on hold the land ownership survey across the state alleging false cases by the police.
In a setback to the Telangana government, the Tahsildars have put on hold the land ownership survey across the state alleging high handedness and false cases by the police department.
Talking to reporters at the Secretariat after a meeting with Chief Secretary S P Singh, Telangana Tahsildars Association President Lachchi Reddy said that he and a team of officials apprised the CS of the police cases and harassment.
"We have informed the Chief Secretary that we cannot continue the survey works unless the police intervention is stopped. The police are filing false and baseless cases against the Tahsildars and revenue officials based on petty complaints, and we cannot discharge our duties for the survey in such an environment. We are stalling the survey works until the government takes steps against police intervention," he said.
He also said that the government should replicate the Rajasthan policy for land surveying.
