SSC To Recruit 21,000 Constables

The recruitments would be done under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in the pay scale of Rs. 5,200 to Rs. 20,200, in Pay Band 1, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2,000.

The State Selection Commission will recruit about 21,000 constables (General Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces and Riflemen in Assam Rifles, in 2013.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, SSC Chairman N K Raghupathy said that the recruitments would be done under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in the pay scale of Rs. 5,200 to Rs. 20,200, in Pay Band 1, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2,000. The age limit is 18-23 years as on 01-01-2013.

Female candidates will be considered for vacancies reserved for them. State-wise reservation of vacancies is available. Vacancies are also reserved for candidates from border areas, and areas affected by Naxalism and militancy. Candidate should have either undergone Matriculation or passed 10th standard, since these are the minimum essential qualification for the post.

The scheme of recruitment comprises a physical standard test (PST), a physical endurance test (PET), a written examination and a medical examination.

The application fee is Rs. 50. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST or ex-servicemen categories eligible for reservation are exempted from paying the fee.

Raghupathy said that the detailed notice of this recruitment would be published in the 15th-21st December 2012 edition of the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar, and that it will also be posted on the Commission's website http://ssc.nic.in.

Candidates will have the option to apply online or submit a paper application to the concerned regional offices of the Commission.

The Commission's chairman said that jobs in the government sector have become attractive in terms of job security as well as in terms of compensation, especially due to the revised pay structure after the implementation of the recommendations of the 6th Central Pay Commission.

"As a result, in the past three years, there has been a tremendous surge in the number of applications as well as recruitments in the Staff Selection Commission," he stated.

Furnishing statistics, Raghupathy said that there has beeb an enormous increase in the number of candidates who applied for various posts in the southern region of the Staff Selection Commission. While the Commission received 26,350 applications from Andhra Pradesh alone in 2008, it touched 3,97,262 in 2012-13.

Sir I am unable to find the PDF advertisement anywhere in the website or the news is not found in SSC official website yet.
