The Srisailam temple received its highest ever hundi offerings for Ugadi, the Telugu New Year day.
According to Sri Bramarambika Mallikarjuna Swamy temple Executive Officer P Venkateswarulu, the temple hundi registered a collection of Rs. 66,38,000 on the Ugadi day.
After calculating the hundi collections with temple officials at Nitya Kalyana Mandapam on Saturday, the Executive officer stated that the hundi received 103 grams of gold, 900 grams of silver, 104 American Dollars and 10 Malaysian Ringgit, apart from Indian currency.
Apart from hundi collections, the temple earned income from rituals which include Rudrabhishekham and Ati Sreeghra Darshan, by selling laddus, and by providing other services to devotees. The temple earned Rs. 64 lakh through Rudrabhishekham, Rs. 50 lakh through Ati Sreeghra Darshan, Rs. 11 lakh by selling laddus and Rs. 35 lakh from the other services it provided.
EO Venkateswarulu said that lakhs of devotees visited the temple on Ugadi and performed special poojas seeking the blessings of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bramarambika Devi.(INN)
