A delegation of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs from the Telangana region on Monday met Governor E S L Narasimhan and appealed to him to paint an impartial picture of the prevailing situation in the Telangana region.
Talking to media persons after submitting a memorandum to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, TDP MLA Venugopalachary stated that the TDP delegation had appealed to the Governor to send accurate and impartial information to the Centre on the situation in Telangana.
The MLAs said that the Governor had heard them patiently, and that he had assured them that he would send unbaised information to the Centre.
Venugopalachary also revealed that the TDP delegation had brought the issue of the lifting of police cases against students to the notice of Governor.
The Governor stated that he would look into the issue after contacting Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and the state Director General of Police, K Arvinda Rao.
He said that the TDP MLAs will go to New delhi on Tuesday to press the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram, to hasten the introduction of the Telangana Bill in the Parliament.
The TDP leader said that the delegation would appeal Chidambaram to speed up the process of Telangana formation.
