Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy on Sunday stated that Congress leaders hailing from Seemandhra would meet at MP Kavuri Sambhasiva Rao's residence to discuss their views with the Congress High Command.
Talking to media persons, Erasu Prathap Reddy said the meeting would suggest measures to be taken to keep the state integrated, and on presenting these views to the High Command.
He said the delegation of Seemandhra leaders would meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday and urge them to keep the state integrated.
He said the delegation would also appeal to the PM to take a firm decision on the controversial statehood issue without any delay.
Seemandhra Forum convener S Sailajanath said that the delegation of Seemandhra leaders would meet Congress Core Committee members on July 18th, 19th and 20th.
Sailajanath said these leaders were opposing the division of the state, since they believe that progress can be achieved only with an integrated state.
Responding to the allegation that Seemandhra members lack unity, as shown by the fact that North Andhra representatives did not turn up for the Samaikyandhra convention in Vijayawada, Sailajanath ruled out the charges and said the Seemandhra leaders would organise a convention, if necessary, in Hyderabad, to prove their unity.
