Secunderabad Needs Separate Corporation: Talasini

BRS MLA and former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today demanded the establishment of a separate corporation for the Lashkar area (Secunderabad).

Yadav and BRS MLA Mutha Gopal participated in a protest at Dharna Chowk, demanding the creation of the Lashkar Corporation. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the merger of 27 municipalities into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was illegal and that the delimitation process was carried out without following due process. Yadav also said that the proposed divisions were not made scientifically and that it was shameful that the merger proposal was put forward without even the Mayor's knowledge.

"The people of this area demand that Secunderabad, which has a history of over 200 years, be established as a separate corporation. They insist that the revenue generated from the area should be spent solely on its development. The demand for setting up a separate corporation for the Lashkar area is genuine. We will intensify the protest until justice is done for the area," he said.
