The Special Court For Anti-Corruption Cases on Monday directed the Hyderabad city police to register a First Information Report against former chief minister K Rosaiah, in connection with illegal allotment of government land worth around Rs. 200 crore to private parties, in the Maitrivanam area in Ameerpet, a prime commercial slot.
Accepting a petition on the issue, the Special Court directed the ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) Director General to inquire into the matter and to submit a factual report to it by 28 January 2011.
The court's directive means that proceedings against Rosaiah over his role in the alleged scam can go ahead.
Advocates K Mohanlal and T Sriranga Rao filed a petition before the court last Tuesday, which stated that Rosaiah, one G N Naidu and 13 of his associates were punishable under Sections 11, 12, 13 of the Prevention Of Corruption Act, and Sections 406, 409 and 420 read with 120 of IPC for committing irregularities.
The advocates also requested the court to refer the matter to the ACB Director-General.
