Revanth Reddy Fails To Appear Before IT Officials
The Congress leader informed them that he would send documents through his accountants to clarify their doubts about the alleged tax violations, and not appear personally.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president A Revanth Reddy today failed to appear before income tax officials in connection with alleged tax violations by him.
Reddy was scheduled to meet the officials at Aayakar Bhavan in Basheerbagh on Tuesday. He however reportedly informed the IT officials that he would send documents through his accountants to clarify the doubts of the officials about the alleged tax violations and other business transactions, and not appear personally.
Reddy had appeared before the IT officials on October 3 in response to a notice issued to him after raids were conducted at 16 places linked to him, including his house in Jubilee Hills, in the last week of September. He was interrogated for appearing to have assets disproportionate to his known sources of income and for being part of fake companies. After a day-long grilling session on October 3, the IT officials asked Reddy to re-appear before them on Tuesday, an appointment Reddy chose not to keep.
