Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Yerram Naidu on Friday charged the government of lacking foresight, with the plight of the paddy farmers in view.
"Doesn't anyone in the government know how much paddy is cultivated each season? Why is there a lack of storage space at grain purchase centres and a deficit of gunny bags?" questioned Yerram.
The TDP leader alleged that the Congress does not truly care about the farmers of the state, and that Kiran Kumar Reddy was preoccupied with trying to hold on to his CM post.
He demanded that the government explain why the input subsidies that were promised 5 months ago on the floor of the Assembly were not yet disbursed to the farmers. He also pointed out that the promised stocks of seeds for the Kharif season were yet to reach the farmers.
Yerram called upon the farmers of the state to work towards bringing the government on its knees, and ensuring that the promised schemes for the welfare of the agriculturists are implemented.
