The team led by veteran actor Prakash Raj for the upcoming Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections held a feast meeting in the city with some of the members of the association, and discussed the problems being faced by the artists, and the steps needed for the development of the association.
He mentioned that his team had prepared an action plan for the welfare of the artists, the education of their children and the protection of the artists? health.
He also announced that he would set up a corpus fund with Rs. 10 crore if his team won the elections.
He also said that he would show results within six months of his election as the president.
Raj said that several issues were plaguing the association currently, and that some members had damaged its reputation significantly in recent times. This had led to several members of the association not being active any more, and some ?heroes? not coming forward to even cast their votes in the elections. His team would work hard to restore the past glory of the association and the sense of belonging if it was elected, he vowed.
The elections this year are attracting a lot of attention from the people of the two Telugu-speaking states, with plenty of accusations and counter-accusations flying around and much lobbying. Two teams, led by actors Prakash Raj and Vishnu Manchu, are competing in the elections.
