Former MP and Telangana Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar withdrew his hunger strike at the Karimnagar government hospital on Wednesday.
Former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy made Ponnam withdraw his fast by offering him lemon juice.
It may be recalled that Ponnam had sat on a "fast to death" in front of his residence for the last five days demanding that the state government set up a medical college at Karimnagar town. The police foiled Ponnam's fast on Tuesday morning and shifted him to government hospital as his health condition was deteriorating. But Ponnam refused to cooperate with the doctors there and made it clear that he would continue his fast from the hospital premises till the state government announced a medical college for Karimnagar.
But on Wednesday, Ponnam decided to discontinue his fast, apparently without any assurance from the ruling party.
If all of this ended just the way you guessed it would, there are no prizes.
