Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday signed the file related to the Rs.-1-per-kg-rice scheme, at his Camp Office.
After paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi's portrait at the Camp office to mark his birth anniversary, the Chief Minister signed the file.
He said the scheme, scheduled to be launched on 1 November, would benefit 2.26 crore people in the state.
Stating that his government was committed to the welfare of poor and middle class people, Kiran Kumar Reddy listed out the various welfare schemes being implemented by the state government for the welfare of economically and socially weaker sections. (INN)
