Facing charges of arranging bail for mining baron Janardhan Reddy after accepting bribes are suspended judge T Pattabhi Ramarao, retired judge TV Chalapati Rao and 3 others.
The ACB Special Court on Thursday adjourned the next hearing in the cash-for-bail case of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy to November 29.
Meanwhile, six accused in the case appeared before the ACB Court at Purani Haveli on Thursday. They include suspended judge T Pattabhi Ramarao, retired judge TV Chalapati Rao, Bellary MLA Somasekhara Reddy, Yadigiri Rao, Pattabhi's son Ravi Chandra and Gali's relative Dasarath Rami Reddy.
They are facing charges of arranging bail for mining baron Janardhan Reddy after accepting bribes, when the latter was arrested in relation to the Obulapuram Mining Company illegal iron-ore mining case being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It may be mentioned that all the accused, including Gali, have been granted bail in the case. Since Gali is the main accused in the OMC case and yet to get bail, he is still lodged in the Chanchalguda Central Prison.
The other accused appeared before the ACB Court on Thursday for the hearing on the case which has now been adjourned to November 29. (INN)
