Stating that the Congress party would not suffer any major damage with the floating of a new party by former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said that many leaders had deserted Congress and formed their own parties earlier also.
Talking to media persons after attending a meeting convened by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the Chief Minister stated that he saw no threat from the yet to be formed party of the former Kadapa MP.
When asked about the finalization of names for Deputy Chief Minister, Pradesh Congress Committee President and Speaker posts, Kiran Reddy said that the High Command would take appropriate decision at the right time.
As part of his New Delhi visit, the Chief Minister also met the Srikrishna Commission Member-Secretary V K Duggal.
Asked to brief about the meeting, Kiran Reddy described it as a courtesy call, and asked media persons not to attach any political importance to the meeting.
