Senior news reader K Veerabhadra Rao, popularly known as Badri, was killed, and his wife, two sons and another family member were injured when the car they were travelling in lost control and hit a roadside tree.
The accident occurred near Lakshmi Nagar of the Dwaraka Tirumala mandal in the West Godavari district on Sunday.
According to the police, a car tyre burst is suspected to have caused the accident.
The family was proceeding to a temple when the accident occurred.
The injured were first taken to a hospital at Eluru and then shifted to Vijayawada.
Bhadri, 38, was a popular face on the Telugu news channel TV9.
